Lynn DeShazo is the author of some of the Church's most loved worship songs of today, many of which have been featured on the live praise and worship recordings produced by Integrity Media.

Lynn is best known for such songs as "More Precious Than Silver," "Lead Me to the Rock," "Turn My Heart," "Be Magnified," "Be Unto Your Name," "Stand Up and Give Him the Praise," "In Your Presence, O God," and "Ancient Words."

Her songs have been performed by a diverse and distinguished group of worship leaders and vocalists that have graced the popular Integrity's Hosanna! Music series from its inception. They include Leanne Albrecht, Rita Baloche, LaMar Boschman, Scott Wesley Brown, Travis Cottrell, Brian Doerksen, the Women of Faith worship team, Bob Fitts, Kent Henry, Graham Kendrick, Robin Mark, Don Moen, Marty Nystrom, Ross Parsley, Randy Rothwell, Paul Wilbur, and Kelly Willard. Her songs have also found their way onto countless other worship recordings, including independent productions as well as the works of artists such as Fred Hammond, Kim Hill, Israel Houghton, Michael W. Smith and John Tesh..

Lynn has been involved in worship ministry on the local church level for over twenty-five years as a worship leader, a songwriter, and a musician. Her songs have been sung in worship throughout the Body of Christ since the early 1980's, and she has been an exclusive songwriter for Integrity Media since 1989. Lynn has also produced ten of her own music recordings to date. The latest CD was released in 2007 (MORE PRECIOUS THAN SILVER - the Songs of Lynn DeShazo).

Lynn travels frequently as a guest worship leader, instructor, and minister to a wide variety of churches, retreats, and conferences within the USA and abroad. As a psalmist in the Body of Christ, she helps connect worshipers to the flow of God's Spirit, bringing times of refreshing and healing to God's people.

Lynn is a native of Alabama, graduated from Auburn University, and has lived in Birmingham nearly all of her life.

MINISTRY UPDATE

February 2010

Progress on the book marches on. I am waiting on my publisher for what should be the last round of corrections to the type set version of the book. One I’ve signed off on it, we’re off to the presses! It’s still hard to place the actual release date, but certainly by June 1st. WinePress Publishing invited me to attend the 2010 International Christian Retailers Show as one of their authors. Since the book has to be in their inventory by June 1st, I can say with 99.9% certainty that it will be available by then! If you happen to be attending the ICRS in St. Louis this year (June 27-30), be sure and look me up. I’ll be signing books at the WinePress booth, and hoping that a lot of Christian bookstore owners will take an interest in stocking it for their customers.

If your church has a bookstore or ministry resource table, I think “More Precious Than Silver: The God-Stories Behind the Songs of Lynn DeShazo” would make a wonderful addition. Retail discount applies.

My cds are now selling through the web store at a slightly reduced price. You’ll find single cds about a $1 cheaper, and deeper discounts on the large combo packages. CD Baby prices remain the same, as they keep a cut of my sales.

In other news, I learned from Integrity Music that Paul Wilbur’s new cd releases in October 2010. It was recorded “live” in Israel during the 2009 Feast of Tabernacles and appears in time for the 2010 Feast of Tabernacles. Sorry, but we’ll all have to wait until then to hear Paul’s version of “The Diamond Turns” (DeShazo) and “Behold the Lord” (Wilbur, Sadler, DeShazo). Should be an awesome worship project, though, and worth the wait.

My church just concluded a 21-day Daniel fast with a tremendous time of worship and intercession during our January 24th morning service. Why did we fast? Because we are learning that as we consecrate ourselves to seek the Lord together at the first of the year, we gain strength in His Presence to face whatever the rest of the year may bring. None of us are really sure what 2010 will look like, but it’s very likely that rough waters lie ahead. It was my privilege to lead prayer for our nation, and I used Jeremiah 18:7-11 as the springboard. Take a minute to read the Lord’s compassionate warning to a wayward nation and be stirred to pray for America.

In Christ Jesus,
Lynn
